Almost a decade ago, Peter suggested Jamie try a one-off Alakazam Academy dedicated to the darker side of magic… bizarre magic. It was an overwhelming success. What was meant to be a one-off became an Alakazam tradition and nine volumes later, Tackling Terrifying Taboos has become one of the events our Taboos alumni look forward to every year. And this time… Jamie got ghostly! He put together a collection of horrendously spooky stories and wonderfully eerie mysteries, involving ghostly clowns, haunted artefacts and even a board game that was BANNED in the 1980s. And yes… he had one. He played it LIVE! Jamie discovered the dark secret hidden within an old yearbook page as he attempted to raise the dead and uncover what really happened on one fateful day. He investigated the disturbing story of a famous writer who began receiving mysterious letters from an unknown fan. Each one contained a Polaroid photograph… and what followed eventually pushed him to breaking point. Jamie also travelled back to a time before digital cameras and video, when parapsychologists were desperately trying to capture physical evidence of ghosts. What did they discover? And more importantly… could you really believe your own eyes? As always with Tackling Terrifying Taboos, the evening was packed with creepy performances, strange stories, wonderfully bizarre ideas and, of course, the secrets behind the magic. So the lights went down, everyone checked what was hiding behind them, and on 24th September 2026 at 7.00pm, hehosted a frighteningly good evening of bizarre magic online.
